Anyone who likes Vampires what's your take on Anne Rice's version of them? I love her and she's the reason I fell in love with vampires. I love Lestat! I got her last two books she wrote for Christmas and read them both in a few days time. Her mind is incredible. I strongly recommend "Memnock the Devil".

I have most of her books and am halfway through most of them with a couple that I finished.
I got no gripe against her, but I'm not her biggest fan either.

There are some of her books that I was disappointed in, but for the most part I think she's a pretty good writer. Twas sad to hear that her husand died and she will not write about Lestat anymore, as her husband was her inspiration for his character.

Yeah it is, I read that one too. I didn't think I'd be interested in it and was pleasantly suprised to find out otherwise.

I think that is the only book I have not read. My husband told me it was not very good and I never bought it, but I would still like to read it for some odd reason.

Well. I find that the problem with her take on vampires, is that they are so focused on sex. I mean, sex is great and all, but there are other things in this world...like taking revenge...

Yes I agree, she does focus on that quite a bit, although I find that more so on her characters before they were made vampires. I think when she describes the vampires taking someone's life's essence, she compares it to being close to esctasy for them.

Memnoch the Devil is quite possibly my favorite book. I wish more people would read it. Maybe make it mandatory in sophmore language class.
