I'm curious to how people felt about the first one.
Some said it sucked, but if you know the story they had to introduce and cut in to a time limit u would understand.
Anyways I liked it a lot although I was not that failure with the story I read 1/2 the book and my dad and others filled me in on the rest.
Still if you have gone to it opening day, see the excitement and anticipation of every generation come together, you will never forget it like me. Watching grown men crying seeing their childhood stories come to life. Not once did anyone get up for anything they were glued something that is bound never to happen again.
Also I got a good experience with ROTK with all the people that have waited 3 years to see it and the whole theater sold out for the midnight showing the night before it came out. we also got free posters cuse a radio station was there and people were screaming for them. Still it can't compare to the first one maybe on a bystander view of the people not the movie; even thow I do think it was made very well.

I thought there were pretty high expectations for FotR, and imo, it delivered like hell. Awesome movie, I saw it 6 times in the theaters and about 30 times at home. (Ok, so i'm a fanatic. Sue me.) It really did a good job in getting audiences to want to follow the story by both reading the books and watching the other movies. Peter Jackson, I salute you! ;D

Great movie! Loved the battle scenes. Even the thing with the elf chick didn't get in the way, which was better the first movie. WHERE THE HECK IS TOM BOMBADILL? ANYONE KNOW?

A Fellowhsip movie with Tom Bombadil would have actually been worse rather than better because it would have slowed the movie down a bit much.
