In fair Verona we lay our scene...
Some (in fact most) of these ideas will seem a little corny, but bear with me. It is fun once you start playing.
Four thousand years ago at the dawn of recorded history a prince of the Egyptians was embraced by Ventrue. Somehow, over the centuries and millenia this prince has managed to maintain his rule over at least one city of mortals. Some say it is because his rule is truly wise and just. Others lay the credit at his truly prodigious powers of Presence and Dominate.
This prince, who became known as Esalus, has sired Mercutio and allowed vampires who have adopted the names of Montague and Capulet to reside in his city. Montague and Capulet were the heads of lesser noble houses in one of Escalus's cities. The two houses have had a sort of ongoing feud since both founders breathing days. Mercutio is a favored descendant of Escalus's mortal line.
The Childer of Escalus have created childer of their own.
Now the situation gets tense. Some say war is just around the corner.
But first there's a party.
It's the evening of the annual Malkavian BASH!

The Houses of Verona Vampires in Verona while they have traits that others would consider typical of a Clan, identify more with the concept of the House. In many ways it’s a different way of saying the same thing, but all the houses can trace themselves back to a single still (un)living ancestor.
There are nine of them:
Escalus- equivalent to Ventrue. Founded by Esclias and Mercutio.
Montague- equivalent to Toreador. Founded by Montague
Capulet- equivalent to Brujah. Founded by Capulet
Frankenstein- equivalent to Giovanni. Founded by Victor Frankenstein
?- equivalent to Malkavian. Founded by Erys
Bete- equivalent to Gangrel. Founded by Proteus
Dead- equivalent to Samedi. Founded by Rob
Noise- equivalent to Daughters (or Sons or Children) of Cacophony. Founded by Calliope
Wild- Wild Gangrel homebrew bloodline. Founded by Eddy childe of Pascal.
The Houses founded by Escalus and the leder vampires are collectively known as the Noble Houses. While every house has a seat on the Primogen occupied by its founder, only the Noble Houses have full status including voting rights. The Houses founded by the ancillae are called the Merchant Houses. They have right to fully participate in the Primogen, but do not have an official vote that counts. The Houses founded by the youngest established vampires in the city are known as the Peasant Houses. They are officially only allowed to address the rest of the Primogen when specifically asked to.

Other Forces in Verona The Talamasca The Talamasca is an organization dedicated to gathering information on the supernatural. Composed mostly of mortals, but also having members with special tricks of their own (numina) or who have been touched by the supernatural (shape-changer kin, ghouls, and dhampirs) or belonging to lesser (in terms of numbers) types of supernaturals (non-garou shape-changers and mummies). Verona presents them with an interesting situation a group of vampires openly ruling mortals is certainly a rarity these modern nights.
The Brotherhood of the Sacred Dragon A mortal church or cult. Seems to have sprung up in the last few years. Nobody knows much about them, but at least they don’t hang out at the airport or go door to door.
The Church Catholicism is still strong and important in the lives of many people. Father Lawrence, the local man in charge (I know that’s probably not the right title, but I don’t know the proper titles for the Catholic priesthood), makes vampires a little nervous.
Community of Christ An offshoot of the Mormons (actually if you know the church history properly the Mormons are an offshoot of them). They believe that miracles and prophesy are an on-going thing and that God can and will talk to you. Pastor Steve seems like a nice fellow.
The Police While the police do answer to the Prince, the hierarchy of the police department itself is run by an urban garou pack, who are willing to let the leeches live… for the time being.
