Here's an idea I had for a thaumaturgy path. I want
opinions on the level of twinkiness. I'm not posting fully
written out mechanics(exactly which die pool is used,
exact difficulties, etc), just abreviated descriptions of the effects at each level.
Soul Manipulation Thaumaturgy
As many already know, the increase in power that
comes from diablery is from absorbing the soul of the
victim. These souls become attached to the diablerist's
aura, thus explaining the black streaks. This path
deals with making good use of these souls. Some
believe it to have been devoloped by a Gehenna cult,
wishing to have an antediluvian under their thumb to
use. Of course, no such antediluvian has been created
yet.
Level 1: Speak With Soul- This allows the diablerist
speak to any of the souls attached to his auara. The
soul is under no obligation to speak truthfully, answer
the question asked, or otherwise be cooperative.
Level 2: Hide the Sin- It costs a willpower to activate for
a scene and hides the tell-tale black streaks in the
diablerist's aura.
Level 3: Dialberize Mortal- This allows the Dialberist to
absorb the soul of any creature including normal
humans, fae, lupines, and mages.
Level 4: Voluntary Possesion- this allows the diablerist
to temporarily put a soul he has absorbed into the
driver's seat under his direction. The diablerist gains
the benefit of the subject's knowledges, disciplines
(excepting fortitude, potence, celerity, and protean) or
other supernatural abilities (excepting fae birthrights
and werecreature shape-changing and rage), and
mental attributes.
A botch is very bad. The diablerist is forced into a
subserviant role in his own body, while another soul
takes charge. How long this lasts is up to the ST.
Level 5-Combine Souls- This turns five vampiric souls
the diablerist has absorbed into one. This
conglomerate soul has a generation one lower than the
highest generation soul in it. It has the knowledges of
all the souls it is composed of. Its willpower is equal to
the best among the five. It also gets the best mental
attribtes and charisma and manipulation among the
five. To find disciplines possessed by this
conglomerate soul, first find the best score in each
discipline these five souls have. Then make note of
these scores. Each discipline has a fifty percent
chance of being completely lost in the transition. Now,
once it has been ascertained which disciplines are
retained at all, check for each dot, starting at the highest level and using that same fifty percent chance of being forgotten.
If an attempt to invoke this power botches the diablerist loses the five lowest generation vampire souls attached to his aura completely for purposes of beneifts, but not the black veins.
